SINGING star Jane McDonald is set to perform in her home city with a fundraising concert in aid of Wakefield Hospice.


And tickets for A Glittering Evening with Jane McDonald go on sale on Monday.


The concert, which will take place in February, marks her long awaited return to The Theatre Royal Wakefield.


Ms McDonald said: “This concert is all about making a huge amount of money for the Wakefield Hospice .


“I visited the hospice on several occasions in the past. And have always been humbled and overwhelmed by the amazing work the wonderful people do there.”


Fans can expect a range of the singers favourite songs including Motown classics, big ballads and a bit of disco.


Ms McDonald said: “I am thrilled to be performing in Wakefield because I think everybody must know by now how very proud I am to be a Wakefield girl.


“The one thing that keeps me here is the amazing community spirit which I hope will come together on the night of this concert.”

Jane McDonald was invited to perform by the legendary songwriter and record producer David Foster during his concert at the Mandalay Bay Events Centre, Las Vegas on Friday 25th November 2011.  Robin Leach reported on the event for The Las Vegas Sun and his own column Vegas Deluxe stating the following about Jane’s knock out performance of the classic song “You Don’t Know Me” that “To say it was super special doesn’t begin to do it justice”.

Jane McDonald Returns To Loose Women



Jane McDonald is set to return to Loose Women when the series comes back after it’s traditional Christmas break.

 

Jane McDonald said: “It’s such a privilege to return to Loose Women. I am so thrilled to be able to work with the girls again and to be back with the viewers. Ever since I left the show, I’ve been inundated with people asking me when I’d go back. I’ve been so humbled by the public’s response. Even at my last concert, the audience were shouting we want you back on Loose Women!”

 

Executive Producer Sharon Powers said: "I am thrilled that Jane McDonald will be returning to the Loose Women panel. She has been truly missed by her fellow panellists & the viewers, and we couldn't be more delighted that Jane will be back in the Loose Women fold."

 

Jane originally left Loose Women in July 2010 to tour with her music.

 

She will join regular panellists which include Carol Vorderman, Andrea McLean, Denise Welch, Sherrie Hewson, Carol McGiffin, Lisa Maxwell, Sally Lindsay, Janet Street Porter and Jenny Éclair.
