UPDATED 19TH July 2011
From David McMurdo
Hi Jane I enjoyed the piece of opera you did last year, and wondered if you would be doing more this year, I think it would go down well.
By the way the medley of your own songs is brilliant.
Take care, David
Jane says:
Hi David
I’m so glad you enjoyed the opera. I haven’t planned to replace it this year as we have SO MANY other requests I certainly will think about it for the future.
From: Kevin Marsham
Hi Jane,
Hope you are keeping well i was just wondering what has happened to Australia I thought you were going out this year has this been shelved or postponed for a later date also have you any plans to record “You have to go through hell” the song you sang in Vegas with Clint Holmes. I think this a great song and would fit lovely on any of your cds take care looking forward to seeing you in Norwich on Sept 11th.
Kevin
Jane says:
Hi Kevin,
Australia has only been postponed. When I left Loose Women back in August 2010 I thought I would have plenty of time to go over and do a tour in Oz, I have cancelled it twice now, but do have every intention of going, it’s just fitting everything in. (not a bad problem to have) this year is already fully booked and it looks like 2012 is busy also, so don’t book your flight just yet.
As for “Hell to Heaven” what a great song. It was written by Clint Homes and was a pleasure to sing with him. One more for the list.
From: Bryan Hodorow
Any chance you are crossing the pond and coming to the US?
Hugs,
Bryan
Jane says:
Hi Bryan,
We would love to go the US, I am still in contact with Las Vegas but it’s the same story as Kevin’s, finding the time to slot everything in is a nightmare. It is also really difficult to break into the states so being realistic I’m not holding my breath.
From: Donna-
Jane, I watched Star For A Night all those years ago & thought it was a great programme especially when you sang on it. Would you ever consider making another series in the future when you're not so busy? I think it was a great show as you helped so many people show off their singing talent.xxx
Jane says:
Hi Donna-
“Star for a night” was one of my first introductions to Television. I think it was brilliant at the time and was never beaten by Simon Cowell on the other side. (not many people can say that!!) but I think it needs a new show to come along and take its place. Believe me I think television is crying out for a GREAT SATURDAY NIGHT TV show and I would love to do it. Saying that they tend to put much younger TV presenters on Prime time.
From: Jackie Heylings
Hi Jane,
Do you have any plans to release The Cruise on DVD?
Lots of Love,
Jackie Heylings xxx
Jane says:
Hi Jackie,
The Cruise is owned by the BBC and it’s up to them if they release it.
From: John Righton
Jane I have a few questions for you, I hope you can answer them for me please :-
1. Would you ever cover my favourite song "I Want To Know What Love Is” by Foreigner maybe for you're album? (I think you would totally be great at covering my favourite song)
Jane says:
Great song! But Shirley Bassey did a fantastic version which can’t be matched.
2. Do you like Tim McGraw, Shania Twain, Dolly Parton & Wynonna Judd as singers and are you a fan of them or not?
Jane says:
I see you are a fan of country music, they are all brilliant artists and I love quite a lot of country music.
3. If you were asked would you ever do your own reality TV show about your life, music career etc? (I wish this could and would come true!)
Jane says:
I usually have a rule to never go back, as you know I was spotted on the Cruise which was a great success so I don’t want to tempt fate. If the right show comes along I would think about it.
4. Will your 2011/2012 studio album be full of your own original material or will they be covers on it also?
Jane says:
I like to have both as that format seems to work for me. Barry Robinson and myself are busy working on the new album as we speak.
5. Will you or would you ever consider or do in the future or sometime soon do an
Acoustic-
Jane says:
I would like to try it out live at a concert first. I now like to workshop new material for the fans live, then I think about recording them.
6. If you were asked would you ever do Las Vegas again and have your own show there or not and do you think you would ever be asked again (hopefully you will be)? (I would come definitely because i love Las Vegas so much)
Jane says:
Wow you must be psychic! I have been talking to the people in Las Vegas only this week. So Barry and I are flying over (hopefully) at the end of the year to have a look again. Hey you never know. Once again it’s a timing issue.
Thanks John for such great questions you certainly made me think.
From: David Cox
I am coming to see you Friday 20th May at Birmingham. I just wondered if the tour you are doing at the moment is going to be recorded for release on DVD this year.
I must say i have been a great big fan of you since you were on the cruise, you are one of the best singers out there. Keep up the brilliant work Jane.
Look forward to seeing your concert on Friday in brum can’t wait!!. Xxx
Jane says:
Hi David,
Hope you enjoyed the concert in Birmingham we had a great time! There will not be a DVD of this year’s concert due to the fact that we recorded last year’s concert at “The London Palladium” I think most people are awaiting the next album.
From: Ben Stanley
Hello Jane, will you be coming back onto Loose Women when you’re not too busy?
Jane says:
Hi Ben,
Loose Women and I are talking all the time, in fact the producers and staff (who are great friends) all came to Croydon. It is truly down to my schedule at the moment why I can’t fit it in, but if I get time I will be back on like a flash! It’s a great programme and something I’ve been very proud to be a part of.
From: Paul Whitehead
Jane I am a fan-
1.) I want to know will there be a new 2011/2012 Studio Album soon? (I hope)
2.) Will you ever write a new Autobiography?
3.) Will you ever come back to Newcastle or Sunderland, North East?
Big huge mega Fan x
Jane says:
Hi Paul,
I am working on a studio album for next year, which is always very exciting. You will be the first to know when it’s ready for release.
I have been asked so many times lately about a new update on my life story, as you probably know Paul, I have a lot to tell..... The last 12 years have been packed, so maybe it’s something I should consider.
I think you will find Newcastle has just gone on sale so get your ticket ASAP and bring all your friends.

Hi Jane,
Do you have any plans to do a date in the US? My family moved over here 10 years ago from Wakey and it would be great to take the kids to see a good Yorkshire lass!
Thanks, Kate
Jane says:
Hi Kate,
The USA is a difficult one! Unless you have a major record company behind you or know Oprah Winfrey you don’t really have a chance. Believe me it would be brilliant if I could crack the US. We did very well in Las Vegas, so that might be an option at a later date.
From: Mark Marcia
Hi Jane.. You keep teasing us disco bunnies with some beautiful rarities including a slice of Rose Royce, which I am soon to witness. Could there one day in the future be a disco album in the pipe line? ....xxx
Jane says:
Hi Mark,
Ok its official I LOVE DISCO!! I think disco music makes you want to dance and of course it takes me back to a time of innocence and no mortgage!! Maybe that’s why I love it so much. I don’t think I will do a full album of disco tracks but they always sneak in somewhere.
From: Sharon Haddad
Who would you most like to record a song with from past or present?
Jane says:
Hi Sharon,
There are lots of people I would like to record with. From the past it would have been Dusty Springfield, now I would love to duet with “The Pet Shop Boys” or Josh Groban and George Michael I can dream.......
From: Kim Hughes
Hi Jane,
As you know I love to sing and have done in a choir but I want to do what you did and go round the clubs...I’m very shy and wondered how I can overcome this?
Love always
Kim xxx
Jane says:
Hi Kim,
Like you I was also very shy (hard to believe now, I know) I wouldn’t recommend going it alone just yet, if I were you I would join a band to build up your confidence and also to get used to life on the road. Trust me, it’s not as glamorous as people think.
From: Sarah Templeton
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
What inspires you when you are writing songs?
Which celebrity did you enjoy meeting the most when you were on Loose Women?
Jane says:
Hi Sarah,
The Highlight of my career so far is that I’m still here!!
Many things inspire me for writing songs but its usually people. My mother inspired me for “The Hand that leads me” My Grandmother for “Not a Day goes by” but it can be a beautiful view, or reading a story, inspiration comes in all shapes and sizes.
I enjoyed meeting all the celebrities on Loose Women, but a couple which stood out for me are Josh Groban, Bette Midler and Whoopi Goldberg.
From: Christine Brierlet
What song gets stuck in your head and makes you sing it all day long? And sometimes drives you made because you can't stop singing it. Is it one of your favorite songs?
Jane says:
Hi Christine,
All of us in the van cannot stop singing “Dance yourself Dizzy” after the concerts because that is the last song. It’s a good job we love it so much
From: Colin
Dear Jane
How do you feel about becoming a full-
Do you know that Dr's Orders has been known to fill the dance floors in Glasgow gay bars?
Jane says:
Hi Colin,
So glad to hear Dr’s Orders is filling dance floors in the Glasgow area. I don’t think for one minute that I am at the ICON stage yet, but hey, I’m working on it!!
