Well….I must say how very, very lucky I am !!
I truly have the nicest, warmest and most generous fans in the whole wide world !!
Your lovely birthday cards, flowers, presents and emails have really touched me so much.
I have received them in abundance and I am shocked that so many of you
remembered and took the time to send me your best wishes.
You really are the kindest people and you really should not have bothered (she lies !!..ha ha)
Thank you, thank you, thank you so very much.
I had a lovely day (although most of it involved a business meeting !!).
Pete and myself had a lovely afternoon meal, a bottle
of champagne (of course darling!!..) and I thoroughly enjoyed my special day.
Hope everyone is keeping well and I am really looking forward to seeing
some familiar faces at my concerts at Redditch this coming weekend.
I mentioned in my last blog just how time seems to be flying by lately and...
here we are again!! I didn't realise it had been so long since my last blog!!
Busy!!, busy!!, busy!! (as usual) but I wouldn't want it any other way...(I don't think !!..lol).
So, what's been happening .....
Well firstly, I must say the concert at Grimsby Auditorium was amazing.
We all really enjoyed ourselves and the people of Grimsby were their
usual, fabulous selves. Thank you so much to everyone for making us all
feel so welcome and for making my visit so memorable. I sincerely hope
we can do it all again very soon.
I am pleased to announce that the new album is progressing really well.
Jarek (bless him!!) has been working so hard, and has produced some
amazing orchestrations for the tracks we have chosen.
I will be in the studio next week recording the vocal track.
Hope I can keep in fine voice!! and that Jarek is not too hard on me!!
(are you listening Jarek??..lol).
I'll give you more details in my next blog but everything is
looking fabulous at the moment.
A few weeks ago, myself and "The Team" were invited to London to preview
the new documentary, "Return To The Cruise".
I have to admit that I was quite nervous at the prospect and when I entered
the viewing room my heart was beating out of my chest with trepidation!!
I was so nervous to see how the completed project had turned out!!
I am sworn to secrecy and unable to reveal too much about it other than to say
that it is still scheduled to be broadcast late April to mid May
(we will keep you informed on the web site).
It features MUCH MORE!! of the original cruise program than I had anticipated
and looking back at my life (and myself !!) 10 years ago was, at times, quite an
unnerving experience (I'm sure you would understand ladies!!!).
It certainly brought back a lot of memories. I hope you enjoy it.
I am really looking forward to my short but fun appearance on
Ant & Dec's "Saturday Night Takeaway" with my good "mate" Christopher Biggins.
"Biggins" and I became friends through charity work and “Loose Women”.
He is a gorgeous, gorgeous, lovely man and I can't wait to be working with him again
(even though I'm sure I'll live to regret it !!!..lol). Love you "Biggins".
I'm so pleased that the concert at the Leeds Grand Theatre
has been contracted. It gives me the chance to work on "home" ground
again (something which always makes me nervous !! I don't know why??)
and catch up with my lovely fans close to home.
It will be great to see many familiar faces in the audience.
Also I’m sure my mother will be in attendance that night.
Blackpool too !!!... Blackpool is always such a joy for me.
The opera house was one of the first major theatres, in which I was lucky enough
to perform, immediately after the success of "The Cruise" documentary.
It was a magical evening then and I am sure it will be magical again on
the 1st. August.
It's lovely that, in this 10th. anniversary year, I am getting the opportunity
to re-visit some of my favorite theatres which hold such precious memories
from those early days.
Don't forget, we are attempting to secure concert dates in as many parts
of the country as possible (my busy schedule allowing) so please keep checking the
"latest news" section of the web site to see if we are visiting close to you.
Oh Yes...thank you for all the emails and kind comments re the latest updates
to the web site. I'm pleased you all like it.
Well, I'll sign off for now. Hope everyone is well and thank you again for your loyal and
much appreciated support (you know how much it means to me!!)
Hope to see you soon.
Lots Of Love
Jane

-------------------
Hello Everyone, It's me, Jane
I'm sorry it's taken me a while to add a new year blog but, as Foz said in his post cruise
message, it's been pretty hectic (as usual !!) since returning at the end of December.
It was a case of straight off the ship and straight back to work !!.
However, we did have a fabulous time on the cruise (a few pics below) and I would like to
take this opportunity to thank all the passengers and crew of the "Oriana" for
making our time with them so enjoyable and for the wonderful reception they gave
us at the shows.
The whole trip was quite magical and we will all remember it as being
one of the best Christmases ever!!
Anyway,
A VERY HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL
Thank you, so very much, for your wonderful Christmas cards, Presents and festive
emails. I hope you had an enjoyable, peaceful Christmas and that Santa was very
good to you!!
And so... here we are again. Another brand new Year (they seem to fly by faster & faster).
It promises to be yet another busy year and, with the "Cruise 2" currently
scheduled for screening in early Spring, quite an exciting one!!
Myself and "The Team" have been invited to the preview of the finished documentary
and we are all excited (if a little apprehensive!!) at the prospect of seeing just how
it all turned out (Here we go again!!!....lol).
I am especially looking forward to recording the new album..
YES FOLKS !! ANOTHER NEW ALBUM SOON !!
Jarek and myself are busy working on some new material and we hope to be
back in the recording studio at some time in March. I am very excited at the prospect
of recording something new again and our creative juices are really flowing well !!
I will keep you updated on the albums progress.
We are also currently organising my "Live" concert dates and, as each one is contracted,
they will be posted on the "latest news" section (so keep checking back).
We will not be performing a national, block tour this year (it would be impossible
to fit it in with my appearances on "Loose Women" and other commitments)
so we are attempting to schedule one night concerts in as many parts of the
U.K. as possible.
This will, hopefully, give me the chance to see you all again and catch up!!
I would like to close by saying a big, BIG thank you for your loyal support
through out 2007. I really do appreciate it and I consider myself very lucky to have some
of the loveliest fans in the world (many who I now consider friends). THANK YOU.
I look forward to seeing many of you again in 2008 and here's hoping its
A fabulous and fantastic year for us all.
All my Love,
Jane

CHRISTMAS EVE (I treated the gang to Christmas Dinner at the Gary Rhodes Restaurant on the Oriana)
Dressing room before the show At dinner on the Oriana
I hope you are all fit, well and healthy and looking forward to the festive season! Yes its upon us again. Where did this year go?
Pete (my P.A.) and I have just arrived back from Cheshire, we were at a fabulous Ball, organized by Denise Welsh and her husband Tim Healy. It was SPECTACULAR!!! Denise and Tim really know how to throw a party. Over 50 celebrities were there and the theme was Motown, a great night (and morning) was had by all.
It has been the busiest time of my whole career! And I am beginning to realise I’m not as young as I was!!! I have to admit though, I’m loving every minute. Between filming Loose Women 3 and 4 days a week, concerts, writing songs, designing gowns, sewing, and going out to all the functions at this time of year, its pretty hectic. But I love to be busy.
I have promised myself, to take a bit off next year, this has got to be a New Years Resolution!!! I cannot tell you how much I’m looking forward to the Christmas Cruise on the Oriana, I am going to take a good book and hopefully get a bit of time between shows to relax.
Anyway my case is packed and I’m off to London again to do Loose Women, then another Charity in Cheshire on Thursday, back down to London on Friday and a bit of a treat, Janet (my sister) and I are going to watch Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday 1st December so watch out for us in the audience.
Hopefully I will see some of you at The Sands Jazz Club in Gainsborough on December 8th.
Finally, here it is, my first blog entry! I’m truly sorry it has taken me SO LONG to get
round to it but my schedule has been manic. Also, pages for a web site can’t be done in 2 minutes they take time, as everything does. Thank for your patience in this matter.
Thanks to everyone who came to Retford, what a fabulous night, the atmosphere
was electric. The only down side for me was complaints from the fans which,
to be honest, brought me down with a bump at the end of the night.
One of the many complaints was about not being able to stand with you all, and have photographs taken.
As you know I had to travel all the way to London from Retford to do “Loose Women”
and be up at 6am the following morning. I stayed to do a signing and had complaints
that you couldn’t take photo’s, please be aware that I had 2hrs and 40 mins sleep,
if I had stayed to do photo’s as well, I would have had no sleep at all.
I am really looking forward to Litchfield, it’s a great theatre and the staff and people
of Litchfield are a joy to be around and always make us feel so welcome. We are also
extremely excited about the Friday night concert, as the BBC are filming the Last night
of a new documentary as a follow up to the CRUISE. We have been busy filming this
for weeks and the last night of filming is to see me, with my fans, so a perfect end I think.
So don’t forget make plenty of noise and cheer loudly on Friday, and see yourself on TV.
It will be party night on Thursday as its Jareks birthday!!!
(we have a lot of Libra’s in our company).
Also get ready for some more new designs from Kaye and me.
The “Jane McDonald Collection” is getting bigger by the day. Hope you like them.
I look forward to seeing you all over the next 3 nights.
